I was at Google during their radical brand redesign and was delighted to contribute to the unveiling of a new crisp logo, the re-launch of the Google Translate app, an Android OS name reveal, and a YouTube channel about the everyday technology in our lives. All things that make my brain tingle.
The new Google logo
Google’s logo revamp was involved and arduous, it introduced a whole new typeface after all. To make the news approachable to an online audience, not just super fans, we decided to add a human touch and some analog romancing and got ourselves a flipbook!
Once launched, it became the most successful social post in Google’s Internet history.
The Nat & Lo show
I also made some lighthearted content for Nat & Lo—later named Nat and Friends—a YouTube channel that explores all things Google and demystifies the technology around us. Below is one of the first episodes, but I urge you to do your noggin' a solid and watch the rest here.
A couple of shorts and sweets to promote new episodes:
Google Translate
When the new Google Translate app was out, silly launch vids were in order:
Android OS name reveal
Last, but not least, we worked on the top secret and highly anticipated Android ‘M’ OS reveal. While everyone was speculating about what sweet treat the M could stand for, our bodies were 98% marshmallow. A small puff of corn starch escaped my lips when we finally could tell the world.
